CASIO WQV-1 (Blue Jelly Edition)
In June 2000, Casio released the WQV-1, touted as the world's first watch with a built-in digital camera. Its built-in camera lens gave it a retro-futuristic look, reminiscent of a James Bond spy watch. Despite having only 1MB of memory, the watch could capture and store 99 black-and-white photos. Photos displayed the date and time, and a 24-character identifier could be manually added. Images could also be exported when connected to a Windows 98 computer and using specific software. -
This series released four models: WQV1, WQV2, WQV3, and WQV10. The 3rd and 10th generations can take color photos. Looking at today's dazzling array of smartwatches, perhaps the designs back then were so avant-garde. Fashion truly is a cycle...
The picture shows the 1st generation version, the same model Leslie Cheung wore back then, in a rare jelly blue colorway. It contains a photo from their 2003 wedding. As shown in the picture, there's a small scratch on the watch face, but otherwise it's in mint condition. This is a one-of-a-kind piece, worthy of a collectible.
